Real Madrid have no intention of recalling teenage sensation Endrick from his loan spell at Olympique Lyonnais in January, despite having a contractual clause that allowed them to do so until the 20th of the month. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Spanish giants were always committed to a long-term development strategy for the highly rated forward.
According to Romano, Madrid never seriously considered activating the recall option. The club’s vision for Endrick has remained unchanged since the start of the season — allow him to gain valuable European experience, play regular football, and return to the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer as a more complete player.
“The plan was very clear: loan, develop at OL, find regular game time and back to Real Madrid in the summer,” Romano reported, underlining the club’s confidence in their roadmap for the Brazilian starlet.
Endrick’s move to Lyon was designed to provide him with consistent minutes in a competitive environment, something that would have been difficult to guarantee at Real Madrid given their star-studded attacking lineup featuring Vinícius Jr., Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappé.
