Brazil midfielder Éderson has informed Atalanta BC that he does not plan to sign a new contract and wants to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is now attracting serious attention from Manchester United, who have added him to their midfield shortlist ahead of the new season. The Premier League side are aware of the player’s situation and have already made contact with his representatives as they continue exploring options in the market.

United are expected to sign at least two midfielders this summer, but the club are still assessing multiple profiles before making a final decision. Éderson is viewed internally as one of the names capable of strengthening the squad with his physical presence, ball-carrying ability, and defensive work rate.

The midfielder was also close to joining Atlético Madrid earlier in the transfer window. Reports suggest the player had already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Spanish side.

However, negotiations between the two clubs eventually collapsed due to Atalanta’s valuation.

Atalanta are demanding around €45 million for the Brazilian midfielder, a figure that has so far proven difficult for interested clubs to match. His current contract with the Serie A side runs until June 2027, which keeps Atalanta in a strong negotiating position despite the player’s desire to leave.
