Tottenham Hotspur’s managerial turmoil has taken another dramatic turn, with Ange Postecoglou revealing his original transfer plans just a day after Thomas Frank was sacked as Spurs head coach.

Speaking to We Are The Overlap, Postecoglou admitted that following his first season in north London, he wanted Tottenham to sign proven Premier League performers rather than gamble heavily on youth. The former Spurs boss named Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, Wolves forward Pedro Neto, Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as his top targets.

“After my first season at Spurs, I wanted Premier League-proven players. I was looking at Pedro Neto, Mbeumo, Semenyo and Marc Guehi,” Postecoglou said. “We ended up signing Solanke, I really like him, and three very good teenagers.”

His comments have sparked debate among fans, especially in light of Tottenham’s struggles this season and the club’s decision to sack Thomas Frank on Tuesday following a run of inconsistent results.
