Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior cut a visibly irritated figure even before kickoff after several Arsenal players were seen warming up in the Blues’ half of the pitch prior to their decisive Carabao Cup semi-final encounter on Tuesday night.
Footage shared by Sky Sports showed Rosenior confronting the situation during pre-match preparations, clearly unhappy with what he perceived as a breach of etiquette from the Arsenal squad. The Gunners’ players had wandered into Chelsea’s half while completing their drills, prompting the Chelsea boss to gesture angrily and exchange words with officials and staff on the touchline.
While the incident did not escalate further, it added an extra layer of tension to an already high-stakes fixture, with both sides battling for a place in the Carabao Cup final. Rosenior’s frustration was evident, as he appeared to feel that Arsenal were attempting to assert dominance even before the game had begun.
Arsenal, however, let their football do most of the talking on the night. Mikel Arteta’s side delivered a composed and clinical performance to secure their spot in the final, sealing a 4-2 aggregate victory over Chelsea across the two legs of the semi-final.
