FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made a strong and emotional statement, claiming that there are people who do not want the Catalan giants to succeed, not only for sporting reasons but also for “non-sporting” motives.
Speaking after Barcelona lifted the Spanish Super Cup, Laporta expressed full confidence in head coach Hansi Flick and the atmosphere inside the dressing room, insisting that the club remains mentally prepared to fight for the La Liga title despite recent challenges.
“There are people who absolutely do not want us to win, not only from a sporting point of view, but also for non-sporting reasons,” Laporta said. “I know Hansi Flick, Deco, and the atmosphere in the locker room, and I am sure we will win La Liga.”
Barcelona have endured a mixed run of form in recent weeks, raising doubts over their consistency in domestic competition. However, Laporta believes that Barca are in the right direction under Hansi Flick and will continue fighting for trophies just like they did last year.
