Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has been named the club’s Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign despite Los Blancos ending the year without a major trophy.

The French superstar received the award after producing outstanding individual numbers in his debut season at the Santiago Bernabéu. Mbappé scored 42 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions, once again proving why he is regarded as one of the best players in world football.

Real Madrid endured a frustrating campaign overall. The Spanish giants failed to win La Liga and also fell short in the UEFA Champions League and domestic cup competitions. However, Mbappé remained the team’s brightest performer throughout the season.

The 26-year-old carried Madrid’s attack in several key matches and consistently delivered goals during difficult moments. His pace, movement and finishing made him the biggest threat in Carlo Ancelotti’s side from start to finish.

Fans and pundits had massive expectations after Mbappé completed his long-awaited move to Real Madrid. Despite the lack of silverware, the French captain largely lived up to the hype with elite performances on the pitch.

Winning the Player of the Season award back-to-back highlights the impact he has already made at the club. Individual recognition may not fully satisfy either the player or the supporters, but his numbers show he was far from the problem in Madrid’s disappointing season.
