Tottenham Hotspur have officially parted ways with Igor Tudor after just 44 days in charge, as the club battles to avoid a shocking relegation from the Premier League.

The decision, described as “mutual” by the club, comes after a disastrous run of form that saw Spurs pick up just one point from five league matches. The final blow was a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, leaving Tottenham hovering just above the relegation zone.

Short-Lived Tenure Ends in Disappointment

Tudor was appointed on February 14 following the sacking of Thomas Frank, with a clear mandate to stabilise the squad and inject intensity into the team during a critical phase of the season.

However, results failed to improve.

His tenure began with consecutive defeats against Arsenal, Fulham, and Crystal Palace, before Tottenham suffered a crushing 5-2 loss in the first leg of their Champions League tie against Atlético Madrid.

Although Spurs showed some fight in the return leg, winning 3-2, they were eliminated 7-5 on aggregate. A 1-1 draw at Liverpool briefly hinted at progress, but inconsistency remained a major issue.

Personal Tragedy Adds Emotional Weight

The situation surrounding Tudor’s exit has been further complicated by personal tragedy. Following the defeat to Nottingham Forest, Tudor was informed of the death of his father, Mario.

Tottenham acknowledged this in their official statement, expressing condolences and support during a difficult time. The club also confirmed the departure of his backroom staff, including goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci.

Tottenham Facing Historic Relegation Threat

Tottenham’s current form has raised serious concerns among fans and pundits alike. The club is now on a 13-game winless run in the league — their worst since the 1934-35 season, when they were relegated.

The possibility of dropping out of the top flight for the first time since the 1976-77 season is now a real threat, a scenario that would have major financial and reputational consequences.

Meanwhile, rivals Arsenal sit comfortably at the top of the table, adding further frustration for Spurs supporters.
