Brazil forward Vinícius Júnior has voiced strong support for compatriot Neymar, calling him one of his “biggest idols” while backing the veteran’s push for a return to full fitness and the national team setup.
Speaking ahead of Brazil’s upcoming international fixtures, Vinícius highlighted Neymar’s ongoing efforts to regain top form after a series of injury setbacks. “Neymar is among my biggest idols. He’s trying everything to be at 100% and to return to the Brazil squad,” the Real Madrid star said.
Despite his importance to the national side over the years, Neymar was notably left out of the latest Brazil squad by head coach Carlo Ancelotti. The decision is widely believed to be linked to concerns over the forward’s fitness and match readiness, rather than a reflection of his quality or standing within the team.
Vinícius acknowledged that selection decisions ultimately rest with the coach but made it clear that players want Neymar back in the fold. “The decision is up to the coach, but we always want to play with the best, and Neymar is among them,” he added.
