Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has delivered a major vote of confidence in Neymar ahead of the FIFA World Cup, insisting the forward will remain one of the national team’s most important players.

Speaking in comments shared by Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti explained that Brazil’s coaching staff spent a long period assessing Neymar’s recent condition before making their decision on his role within the squad.

“Neymar will be an important player for us at the World Cup,” Ancelotti said.

The veteran Italian coach also revealed that Brazil carefully monitored the Santos star throughout the year. According to Ancelotti, the technical staff were pleased with Neymar’s physical progress and consistency during recent months.

“We spent the entire year analyzing Neymar. We realized that in this last period he had continuity and was in good physical condition,” he added.

The statement is a significant show of support for Neymar, whose recent years have been heavily affected by injuries and fitness concerns. Questions had emerged over whether the star could still perform at the highest level for Brazil on the international stage.

However, Ancelotti’s latest comments suggest the former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona forward remains a central figure in Brazil’s plans heading into the tournament.
