However, the leggie secures a spot in the Indian squad set to compete in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. Notably, Chahal, not featured in the T20 lineup, recently shared a cryptic post on his Instagram account. With just five matches remaining before the imminent T20 World Cup, India faces critical decisions in team selection.

Chahal’s last T20I appearance dates back to August 2023, marking a shift from his previous regular inclusion in the format. His T20 track record boasts 80 matches for India, claiming an impressive 96 wickets at an economical rate of 8.19. The 33-year-old spinner also boasts a notable five-wicket haul in T20Is.

Looking ahead, the T20 World Cup, scheduled from June 4 to 30 in the West Indies and USA, looms on the horizon. Presently, Team India is engaged in a T20I series against Australia, with two matches remaining before they square off against South Africa in a three-match T20I series.
