India’s wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel showcased his cricketing acumen by accurately predicting England batter Ollie Pope‘s wicket during Day 1 of the Dharamsala Test on Thursday.
Pope found himself grappling against the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav on a turning track at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium.
Despite the relentless pressure from Ashwin and Kuldeep, Pope persisted until he succumbed to temptation and lost his wicket just before lunch.
In the 26th over, Kuldeep delivered a well-tossed delivery on middle stump, prompting Pope to advance down the track in an attempt to attack.
However, just moments before the delivery, Jurel’s voice was captured on the stump mic, cautioning Kuldeep about Pope’s intentions to step out against the spin.
“Badhega ye aage, badhega aage (He will step out)..!!” Jurel’s warning proved prophetic as Pope followed through with his intended move, ultimately leading to his dismissal.
