Smriti Mandhana, one of India’s top women’s cricket players, has been named captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women’s team for the upcoming season of the WPL.
Mandhana, a left-handed opener, has been a key player for the Indian women’s team for several years, and has also performed admirably in various T20 leagues around the world. She was previously part of the Trailblazers team that won the Women’s T20 Challenge in 2020.
The RCB women’s team is a relatively new addition to the IPL. Mandhana’s appointment as captain is a significant step for the team, and for women’s cricket in India as a whole. As a seasoned international player with experience in leadership roles, she is well-equipped to lead the RCB women’s team and inspire the next generation of female cricketers.
