Kashvee Gautam, Sayali Satghare to miss WPL due to injury

Uncapped allrounder Kashvee Gautam, who made headlines with her record-breaking purchase by Gujarat Giants for INR 2 crore, will miss the upcoming Women Premier League (WPL) season due to injury. The absence of Gautam, who showcased her prowess with a stellar performance in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, where she claimed 12 wickets in seven matches, comes as a significant setback for the Giants.

In her place, another uncapped allrounder, Sayali Satghare, has been named as the replacement at a reserve price of INR 10 lakh. Satghare, known for her impressive performance for Mumbai in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, brings a wealth of talent and potential to the Giants’ squad.

Additionally, India spin allrounder Kanika Ahuja, a key player for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has also been ruled out due to injury. Ahuja’s absence will be felt by RCB, as she played a crucial role in their campaign last year, contributing both with the bat and ball.

To fill the void left by Ahuja, Shradda Pokharkar, a left-arm seamer from Maharashtra, has been drafted into the squad at a reserve price of INR 10 lakh. Pokharkar’s inclusion adds depth to RCB’s bowling lineup and brings valuable experience to the team.

The second season of the WPL is set to kick off in Bengaluru on February 23, promising exciting action and intense competition as teams vie for supremacy in women’s cricket.
