As the Indian Women’s Premier league is scheduled to start on the 4th of March, RCB today announced that the former assistant coach of the Australian women’s team, Ben Sawyer, would be the head of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RCB’s Director of Cricket Mike Hesson said as posted by RCB’s official website, “Ben Sawyer has been part of Women’s cricket for over 20 years now, knows the cricketers thoroughly, understands the game, and has been involved in our preparations right from the beginning.

He added, “I am delighted to have him, and he is as excited to join us. We also have Malo, who has been part of our men’s system and scouting team. He will bring much value to Vanitha and RX Murali, who have extensive experience working in Karnataka with the women players and are highly sought after. So we have a great team of talented support staff and the coaching team we want to grow and develop too.” Vanita was part of the scouting side, and RX Murali was appointed the team’s batting coach.
