WPL Auctions Live: Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur to play for Mumbai Indians

In the ongoing auctions of the inaugural season of Women’s Premier League, Harmanpreet Kaur gets sold to Mumbai Indians.

Surprisingly the captains of team India (Men & Women) will play for Munbai Indians as Rohit Sharma and Kaur will now represent Mumbai Indians. Kaur was sold for INR 1.8 Crore.

The BCCI previously disclosed that it had received 1525 registrations, of which 246 Indians and 163 foreign players had been selected. There are 24 players with the highest base price of 50 lakh, including 10 Indian and 14 international cricketers.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, and Deandra Dottin are on the list of people with the highest base prices. The winning Indian U-19 T20 World Cup team members have also registered for the auction. A total of 12 crore will be allocated to the five franchises.
