In another big move at the WPL 2026 Auction, India pacer Renuka Singh Thakur has been sold to Gujarat Giants for Rs 60 lakh, securing a strong addition to their bowling unit.

Renuka entered the auction with a base price of Rs 40 lakh, and the bidding picked up quickly as teams looked to add a proven powerplay bowler. Gujarat Giants made the decisive move and closed the deal at Rs 60 lakh, strengthening their pace attack ahead of the new season.

This comes after a busy opening phase in the auction, which has already seen major action. The day started with Alyssa Healy surprisingly going unsold at Rs 50 lakh, followed by a fierce battle for Sophie Devine, who was picked up by Gujarat Giants for Rs 2 crore. Deepti Sharma returned to UP Warriorz after the franchise exercised their Right-to-Match option, while Amelia Kerr rejoined Mumbai Indians for Rs 3 crore.

Renuka Singh brings strong credentials to Gujarat Giants. Known for her swing and discipline in the powerplay, she has an impressive T20I economy of 6.36, consistently keeping batters quiet. In the WPL, her best figures stand at 3/23, showcasing her ability to break partnerships and change momentum quickly.

With her move to Gujarat Giants, Renuka becomes a key part of their revamped bowling plans as they look to create a balanced and competitive squad for WPL 2026.
