India’s top-order batter Sabbhineni Meghana, who entered the WPL 2026 Auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh, went unsold in the marquee set. Despite her proven credentials in domestic cricket and previous WPL experience, none of the franchises placed a bid for the right-handed opener.
Meghana, known for her clean strokeplay and ability to anchor innings, had earlier represented Gujarat Giants in past seasons. With teams prioritising all-rounders and overseas stars in the opening rounds, she did not attract interest this time.
She could still return in the accelerated round later in the auction.
