World Test Championship Final delayed, will begin on June 18

The Finals of the World Test Championship will now be played out from June 18-22, originally the decider has scheduled it from June 10-14 at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

ANI has learnt that decision was made by keeping in mind the vicinity between WTC final and final of the 2021edition of IPL which dates has not declared yet.

It is almost clear that India is going to be a part of the final.

In the WTC standings, currently India and New Zealand are at the top two spots. After playing five series India is leading by 430 points while New Zealand have 420.

In February India is going to play one more series against England and Australia is going to face South Africa. If Tim Paine and his team wishes to play in finals of WTC Australia have to win the game against South Africa.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic ICC had decided to change the point rating system of WTC. The WTC table has now been revised to rank teams based on the points they have achieved from the Test series.

Meanwhile, on Monday, England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that England is going to start their home international summer by playing two-match Test series against New Zealand, which is going to began from June 2

About winning The Test Championship, Virat Kohli said that , “ I think Test Championship , as an ICC tournament, should be right up there as this is going to be the biggest  of them all. Every team wants to make it to the final and we are not any different. We want those points and make also wants to make sure thatwe qualify as soon as we can and be in that game and hopefully win that.”
