Indian star batter Virat Kohli has not joined the team yet at Thiruvananthapuram. The team management is positive, saying that he will be here soon in Kerala to play their warm-up match against the Netherlands. However, there is no word of him (as of October 2) coming together with the team.
“He will be arriving soon and should be available for selection in tomorrow’s game,” a team official stated.
As per reports, while the Indian team went directly to Thiruvananthapuram from Guwahati, Kohli went to Mumbai, calling for a family emergency. He was granted leave by team management.
India is ready to play their second warm-up game against the Netherlands before the opening of the 2023 World Cup. The men in blue will face the Aussies in their opening game of the tournament on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
