The 2023 ICC Men’s World Cup is just around the corner, but Team India is still facing minor issues with its final selection. All-rounder Axar Patel, who was supposed to be a part of the Indian squad in the World Cup, has unfortunately missed this year because of his injury. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will take his place in the Indian squad. Ashwin was remarkable during his ODI comeback against Australia, where he took two crucial wickets in both games.
ROHIT SHARMA CONFIDENT ABOUT HIS TEAM AHEAD OF THE MAIN EVENT
Rohit Sharma stated in an interview that he is confident about his team for the main event. The boys are ready, and he is expecting to see 2011 magic once again.
“When we talk about the 15, we are very clear about what we want. We are not confused; we know where we are headed as a team. It’s a team sport, and we want everyone to come and play their part; that’s how we win championships. It’s about looking after the body and trying to stay fresh for the next one and a half months”, the skipper said.
The Hitman also bagged Ashwin by praising his experience and familiarity with playing at big-stage tournaments. Ashwin, who was a part of both the 2011 and 2015 World Cup squads, knows the pricks of the game.
The 2023 World Cup kick starts on October 5 in Ahmedabad, India, where we will see last-time champions England lock horns with the Kiwis.
