West Indies’ schedule for ICC World Test Championship 2023-25

West Indies, once known for their dominance in Test cricket, finished in eighth place in the previous edition of the ICC World Test Championship. However, the Caribbean team is determined to turn things around in the upcoming 2023-25 cycle. With several series lined up, they have the opportunity to improve their standing in the longest format of the game.

The new cycle of the World Test Championship kicked off earlier this week with a thrilling Ashes series between Australia and England. West Indies will be participating in a total of six series during the 2023-25 cycle, providing them with ample opportunities to showcase their talent and compete against strong opponents.

Their journey begins with a series against two-time runners-up India. The Indian team is set to travel to the Caribbean islands for a two-match Test series starting from July 12 to 24. The first match will take place in Dominica, followed by the second match in Trinidad. Both matches will be highly anticipated encounters, as West Indies aims to make a strong start in the championship.

In 2024, West Indies will embark on a tour of Australia, where they previously faced a 0-2 defeat. This time, they will have a chance for redemption as they take on the Australian team in a two-match Test series. The second match of the series will be a pink-ball, day-night match held in Brisbane, adding an extra element of excitement to the contest.

Following their tour of Australia, the West Indies team will travel to Pakistan for an away series against Babar Azam’s side. This series, expected to take place in February-March 2024, will consist of two Test matches and provide West Indies with a challenging test in subcontinental conditions.

Continuing their campaign, West Indies will visit England for a three-match Test series in July 2024. This series will mark their final away series of the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle and serve as a crucial opportunity for them to perform on English soil.

The team will then return home to host South Africa for a two-match Test series in August 2024. This will provide West Indies with a chance to showcase their skills in front of their home crowd and seek a positive outcome against a formidable South African side.

In late 2024, West Indies will welcome Bangladesh for another two-match Test series. This series is scheduled to take place in November-December 2024, offering the Caribbean team an opportunity to compete against a rising force in world cricket.
