West Indies overhauls squad for second test against India

West Indies cricket team, following their loss in the first Test against India, has undergone significant changes in their squad for the second Test in Port of Spain.

Despite concerns over his absence due to illness during the previous Test, spinner Rahkeem Cornwall has been retained in the squad. His three-session break allowed India to amass over 420 runs, contributing to West Indies’ disappointing performance.

In response to the team’s lackluster batting in the previous game, the West Indies management decided to replace No. 3 batter Raymon Reifer, who scored only 2 and 11 runs. However, Reifer will still be traveling with the team to Trinidad as injury cover.

To strengthen their lineup, West Indies introduced off-spinning all-rounder Kevin Sinclair, known for his impressive record of 11 wickets from seven One-Day Internationals and solid First-Class averages of 29 with the bat and 23.98 with the ball from 18 matches. The much-anticipated second Test, marking the 100th encounter between the two teams, is set to commence on Thursday.
