West Indies names squad for the T20I series against team India

West Indies send the same squad who beat England in the recent T20 series.

The experienced batsman Shimron Hetmyer has played a lot of games in the Indian pitches. including the IPL games but unfortunately is not included in the 16 men squad against India in the T20I series.

West Indies will be playing a white-ball series against India with Rohit to captain team India. The series includes 3 ODIs which will be played in Ahmedabad (Narendra Modi Stadium), while the T20Is will be played in Kolkata ( Eden Gardens).

The series will begin from the ODI series, beginning on February 6. The T20Is are likely to start from February 16 and will be played on alternative days – 16, 18, and 20th February.

Eleven players of the West Indies team will be playing throughout the white-ball series, T20Is as well as the ODIs. These 11 players are – Pollard, Darren Bravo, Fabian Allen, Holder, Hope, Akeal, Brandon King, Pooran, Romario, Odean Smith, and Hayden Walsh Jr.

PTI reported that chief selector Desmond Haynes stated his happiness with the series win against team England and believes that the same team will be performing well in team India.

West Indies T20 squad: Kieron Pollard (Captain), Nicholas Pooran (Vice-Captain), Fabian Allen, Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell, Dominic Drakes, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Brandon King, Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Kyle Mayers, Hayden Walsh Jr.

West Indies brought the trophy home by winning the home series of the shortest-format – 5 T20Is against team England. Holder performed stunningly well as his five-wicket haul made it possible.
