West Indies Allrounder Romario Shepherd Makes Surprise Move to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 Trade

In a surprising turn of events, West Indies allrounder Romario Shepherd has been traded from Lucknow Super Giants to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 season. The ongoing trading window has seen limited player exchanges, making Shepherd’s move to MI one of the notable transfers in the pre-auction period.

The 28-year-old cricketer, known for his versatile skills, has represented West Indies in 25 ODIs and 31 T20Is. Shepherd made his IPL debut in the 2022 season when he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad. After a brief stint with SRH, where he featured in just three matches, he was released and subsequently acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 50 Lakh.

Despite being with LSG, Shepherd had limited opportunities, featuring in only one game for the franchise. This lack of game time might have prompted the team to consider trading him to Mumbai Indians, a move that could offer him more playing opportunities and a fresh start in the upcoming season.

As the IPL teams gear up for the upcoming auction, franchises are in the process of finalizing their retentions. Shepherd’s move to MI adds an interesting dimension to the player transfers, setting the stage for an exciting IPL 2024 season.
