A viral video from the IND vs SA 1st ODI in Ranchi has taken social media by storm, showing a young fan breaching security and dramatically leaping over a high barrier — nearly the height of one floor — to reach Virat Kohli during his century celebration.
The incident occurred moments after Kohli brought up his 52nd ODI hundred at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. The star batter, who celebrated with his trademark leap and fierce roar, was suddenly approached by a pitch invader who sprinted towards him and immediately fell at his feet.
Security personnel rushed in and pulled the fan away within seconds, but the footage of the breach — especially the fan’s high jump over the elevated boundary structure — has triggered intense discussion online about stadium safety.
Kohli appeared unfazed and continued the moment by kissing his wedding ring in celebration, marking another memorable century on a ground where he has now scored three ODI tons.
Earlier in the innings, Kohli had looked in vintage touch, getting off the mark with a boundary and unleashing a flurry of exquisite shots. He built a massive 136-run stand with Rohit Sharma and went on to score 135 off 120 balls, striking 11 fours and seven sixes before being dismissed by Nandre Burger.
The video of the fan’s leap and subsequent security breach is now widely circulating, with viewers stunned at how he managed to jump the high barrier and reach the field unnoticed until the final seconds.
