Voll capitalized on every chance offered by the White Ferns, steadily building momentum after a cautious start and eventually accelerating in partnership with Phoebe Litchfield (26 off 16) and Ellyse Perry (32* off 19). The damage was finally contained when Suzie Bates cleaned up Voll in the 15th over, but by then, Australia had already established a strong platform.
The rest of the Australian batting unit chipped in, with Perry and captain Tahlia McGrath (14* off 5) providing the final flourish. Despite a disciplined spell from Rosemary Mair (1/29) and Suzie Bates’ tight two overs (1/18), New Zealand’s fielding woes could prove costly.
