Wasim Jaffer, a former India batsman, took to Twitter to tweet a video of Shah Rukh Khan from the 1995 film ‘Karan Arjun’ in reference to Dinesh Karthik’s comeback to the Indian squad after a break since 2019 for the five-match T20I series against South Africa. The video depicts Shah Rukh’s character in the film speaking with Johnny Lever, claiming that he feels like he’s seen this place previously and that he has worked here before.
Karthik hammered 330 runs in 16 matches in Indian Premier League 2022 with an astounding strike rate of 183.33, earning him the title “finisher.”
He last represented India at the ICC World Cup in 2019. The T20I series against South Africa will be a huge chance for Karthik as Team India attempts to set its things in order prior to the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia in October.
“With Dinesh it is pretty obvious and very clear. He has made a comeback based on the skills that he has shown in a particular phase of the game. The phase of the game that Dinesh, at the back-end, has really been able to show skills over the last two or three years, he has been able to be a point of difference for whichever team that he has played,” Rahul Dravid, Indian team head coach said in a press conference.
