Washington Sundar replaces Deepak Chahar against South Africa in the ODIs

Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against South Africa. To replace the ace bowler, Washington Sundar has made his place in the Indian squad.

Deepak Chahar complied with a stiff back just after the last T20Is against South Africa and was given a rest on the first ODI which India lost by 9 runs.

Sundar played his last ODI in February 2022 scoring 57 runs and taking 5 wickets in four matches.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar who is also a part of the reserved squad of the T20 World Cup is not headed to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for further medical checkups.
