Visa approval delays Indian cricketer Shubman Gill’s Glamorgan appearance

Indian opener Shubman Gill has committed to play for Glamorgan for the remainder of the 2022 season, pending visa approval. This will be his first appearance in the County Championship.

If everything goes according to plan, Gill would join Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex), Washington Sundar (Lancashire), Krunal Pandya, Mohammed Siraj (both Warwickshire), Umesh Yadav (Middlesex), and Navdeep Saini as the seventh Indian player to be signed by a county team this season (Kent). After Ravi Shastri (1987-91) and Sourav Ganguly, he will be the third Indian to play for Glamorgan in the County Championship (2005).
