The Test series between India and Sri Lanka will begin on March 3.

Former Indian captain, Virat Kohli is all set to play his 100th Test match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium in Mohali. According to the earlier schedule announced, it was set to be hosted in Banglore. It has been said that the T20I series will begin Sri Lanka’s tour of India.

It is reported that the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) requested the BCCI to begin the tour with T20I Internationals. The Sri Lankan team is currently in Australia, playing five T20Is starting from February 11.

As far as the new schedule is concerned, the matches will be conducted in the reverse order in comparison to what was earlier declared.

According to Cricbuzz, the T20I series will start from February 24 in Lucknow, whereas the second and third matches will take place on February 26 and 27 respectively in Dharamshala.

The Test series between India and Sri Lanka will begin on March 3. After both the team will finish their T20I series in Dharamshala, they will move to Punjab to play the first Test of two-match series where Kohli will also play his 100th Test.

Although BCCI has officially not announced the schedule, the first Test from March 3 to 7 is likely to be played in Mohali unless it changes at the eleventh hour.

The second and final Test will be hosted in Bangalore, Chinnaswamy Stadium. It is reported to be played with a pink ball under the lights. Yet, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) hasn’t officially declared anything.

A KSCA official said that they don’t know if it is a day-night test. All they know is that it will start from March 12 to 16. It remains to be seen when BCCI formally declares the schedule for Sri Lanka’s tour of India.
