Indian skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma have been very important parts of the Indian cricket team for some years now. Their leadership abilities as well as their individual stats are always in the news. Both of them lead an IPL team and have had experience in identifying talent and helping them grow. When Virat is not playing then Rohit Sharma takes over as the stand-in captain. Both of them have raised a few players while leading the side.
KL Rahul
KL Rahul is one of the most impressive batsmen in the shorter formats of the game although he is still to prove himself in the tests. He made his debut in the same match which was MS Dhoni’s last match. He was backed by the Indian skipper at a time when he was not making a lot of runs and was being picked out. Under Rohit Sharma he has only played 10 T20 games in years whereas he played 14 tests, 12 ODI’s and 10 T20’s under captain Kohli.
Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja is one of the best allrounders the Indian team have had. He contributes to the team in all the ways and is also one of the best fielders in the world. He was always MS Dhoni’s go-to man and when skipper Virat Kohli took charge he made sure that he used the experienced player to his best capacity. Unlike Kohli, Rohit Sharma had other things in mind. He has only played 3 Tests under Rohit’s captaincy but is a common face in all formats under the guidance of Virat Kohli.
Vijay Shankar
Vijay Shankar was one of the most talked players during the 2019 World Cup so as to his selection in the Indian squad ahead of Ambati Rayudu. He made his debut in the Nidahas trophy under the guidance of Rohit Sharma but only played five matches. Under captain Kohli, he has been seen on the field more and has been given many more chances comparatively.
