According to reports in media, Jammu express Umran Malik has bowled 163.7 kmph delivery during the net practice session for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa at Arun Jaitley stadium.

The 5-match T20I series between India and South Africa will begin on June 9, 2022, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Indian team will be led by KL Rahul, with Rishabh Pant as his vice-captain.

Umran received the IPL 2022 Emerging Player of the Year award after taking 22 wickets in 14 games at an average of 20.18.

Umran made his presence known at the Arun Jaitley Stadium under the blazing Delhi sun. He was well aware that he was being observed by the reporters, ground workers, technicians, and pretty much everyone else present at the location. Unlike bowling his heart out, though, Umran has yet to grasp the knack of performing to an audience.

During a press conference ahead of the match, Rahul Dravid said, “Yeah, it is exciting. He certainly bowled quick and with pace. Obviously, he is learning. He is a young boy and he is getting better, improving. The more he is able to play, the better he is going to get. From our, perspective, very happy to have someone like him in the mix.

We have to see how much playing time we can give him, we need to be realistic, we have a large squad, it is not possible to give everyone playing XI time. I think I am certainly someone who likes to have that consistency, give people te and let him feel settled in the positions.”
