Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s magnificent 77 not out off 46 deliveries which included eight fours and four sixes helped India come back and score 156 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs in the third T20I of the five-match series held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
With Hardik Pandya playing second fiddle, Virat Kohli attacked aggressively and went after the formidable England bowling line-up, helping India come back to the game.
India at one point scored only 64 runs and lost four wickets, Virat Kohli’s timely half-century and seventy run partnership with Hardik Pandya (17 off 15 balls) helped India regain its position in the game. In addition to that, Kohli scored his last 49 runs off just 17 balls.
The cricketing fraternity as well as several fans laud Captain Kohli for the masterclass innings with former Indian cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Kris Srikkanth tweeting. While Virender Sehwag posted and an image of a lion and captioned the tweet as, “That was special from Kohli, 49 of his last 17 balls. Garza Barza Sher Garza”, Srikkanth said, “What looked like a 120 total for #TeamIndia turned to 150 odd due to the sheer brilliance of King @imVkohli! I think this might one of the few times when @hardikpandya7 played second fiddle in a partnership! Thoroughly enjoyed the knock & those back 2 back 6s! #INDvENG”.
