Indian cricketer KL Rahul , is going through a rough patch. Due to injuries, he has previously missed a lot of games. With the exception of ODIs, he had never had a dry spell in any of the other formats. He was, however, benched from the Test team due to subpar performance. He lost his vice-captaincy in limited overs after a string of poor T20I performances.
KL Rahul struggled in both innings of the most recent second Test against Australia, which compelled BCCI to remove KL as vice-captain of India. He might not even suit up for the upcoming two Test matches against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Karthik said he grasped Rahul’s situation and that there had been times in his career when he had shed a few tears and gone to the bathroom.
“This is a professional world, you’ve got to deal with those sorrowful moments but as a player when I look at what he has gone through. When you get out that way knowing very well this could have been your last innings. It has happened to me when you go into the dressing room, quietly walk into the toilet, and shed a tear or two. It’s not a nice feeling because there’s not much you can do,” he said.
