“Team management informed in morning I would bat at number 3”, says Suryakumar Yadav

India batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who played a game dominating thump in the fourth T20I on Thursday, uncovered that he was ready for the game against England and was simply sitting tight for a chance.

A rankling 57-run thump from Suryakumar, trailed by a splendid presentation from the bowlers assisted India with winning the fourth T20I by eight runs.

Suryakumar said that he is prepared to bat at any position yet was glad that he found the opportunity higher up the in the fourth T20I on Thursday.

“I feel in the last three-four years I have batted at all positions. Directly from opening till number seven and number eight. I’m adaptable to bat at any position,” said Suryakumar in a virtual public interview.

“At whatever point somebody asks me I say something very similar, I have said something very similar to the group the executives also that I am extremely adaptable to bat at any number any place they need me to bat. So I am glad that I got the chance to bat higher up the request,” he further said.

“They (team management) informed in the morning only that I will be batting higher up the order and batting at number three. So they wanted to give me the time to prepare. And I said I will try and make full use of the opportunity given when I go into bat,” Suryakumar added.

Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes had sewed a 65-run association before Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar set India back into the game. Shardul excused Stokes and captain Eoin Morgan to give India an advantage in the game.

“Jonny and Ben Stokes were batting truly well around then and it got hard for our bowlers to hold the ball. It was hard to field as it was weighty dew outside on the field. In any case, what I feel the way batsmen assumed the liability of making that energy on the field, internal circle, remaining outside, I feel that was the extraordinary sight,” said Suryakumar.

With the success in the fourth T20I, India leveled the five-match arrangement 2-2 and the arrangement decider is scheduled to be played on Saturday at a similar setting.
