In the aftermath of a gut-wrenching defeat in the World Cup 2023 final, Team India swiftly shifts its focus to the T20 format, commencing their preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024. The spirited Men in Blue are ready to host Australia in a thrilling 5-match T20I series, kicking off on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
Opting for a strategic rest, both teams have spared most players who participated in the recently concluded World Cup. The young Indian squad, brimming with talent, engaged in an intense net session ahead of the first T20I.
In the practice arena, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased their prowess with the bat, practicing powerful shots against both pace and spin. The return of all-rounder Axar Patel, who missed the World Cup due to injury, added depth to the team as he bowled his left-arm orthodox spin during the session.
Pacers Prasidh Krishna, Akshaydeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar also displayed their skills in the nets, ensuring a fruitful practice session.
Notably, Team India will miss the services of regular skipper Hardik Pandya, sidelined due to an ankle injury. Stepping into leadership shoes for the first time, Suryakumar Yadav has been entrusted with the captaincy.
