Former Australian explosive all-rounder Shane Watson arrived in Mumbai ahead of the 15th season of the IPL. Shane Watson was been named as the assistant coach of the Delhi Capitals earlier. It was very surprising as Shane Watson never played for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League and no one thought that he would be joining the side as a coach there. Former CSK’s opener Shane Watson led the team to victory in the year 2018 when his century helped the team to get their hands on the trophy for the third time. He played exceptionally well for the franchise (CSK) in all the three years he has been there.
Fans thought that Shane Watson after retirement will be thinking of joining CSK or Rajasthan Royals for the coaching role but he chose Rishabh Pant’s team as his friend and former teammate Ricky Ponting is a head coach of Delhi Capitals. It will be interesting to see as the former teammates will be together again, but this time in the coaching role. Shane Watson used to play for Rajasthan Royals at first, thus it was expected that the former Australian opener could also possibly go to Royals but it didn’t happen.
Less than 10 days remain now for the IPL to start and Delhi Capitals will be playing their first game against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
