“Suryakumar Yadav’s horror series is really unfortunate,’ says Rohit Sharma

Suryakumar Yadav suffered his third consecutive golden duck against Australia yesterday.

In a thrilling third and final one-day international against Australia on Wednesday, Suryakumar Yadav suffered his third consecutive golden duck. In the short white-ball format, Yadav is known as a 360-degree player, but in the 50-over format, he has yet to establish himself.

In the 36th over of India’s chase in the final ODI, Yadav was bowled on the first ball by Ashton Agar. The hosts were left with a score of 185-6 with a target of 270 to win the match.

India skipper Rohit Sharma commented that it was unfortunate that Suryakumar could only play three balls in the series, and such a situation could happen to any player. Rohit Sharma said, “Surya played only three balls in this series; I don’t know how to look into it; he played spin well. We have seen that this kind of series can happen to anyone in the last few years – potential & ability is there, but going through that career phase”.
