Supreme Court of Nepal overturns Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane’s travel ban

Sandeep Lamichhane, a former captain of Nepal, is scheduled to depart for Dubai to join the Nepal team for the remainder of the CWC League 2 triangular series against the UAE and Papua New Guinea after the Supreme Court of Nepal on Monday overturned a court order prohibiting him from leaving the country.

The leg-spinner was previously subject to a travel ban as part of his bail conditions. He is currently awaiting trial on rape charges. Even though he had participated in the team’s previous home series against Namibia and Scotland, he was consequently left out of the travelling party for the team’s last League 2 visit to the UAE.
