An amusing recreation
The advertisement playfully references an episode from the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 when Gavaskar, serving as a commentator, expressed his frustration over Pant’s reckless shot selection, labeling it as “stupid, stupid, stupid.” In the Goibibo commercial, the roles are reversed as Pant is seen sitting with two other people while Gavaskar enters the hotel as a guest and is talking to the receptionist about his booking. Pant uses the same line as of Gavaskar when he booked the hotel last minute at a high price. Pant then told him about the online booking platform to book hotels at a great deal.
Pant’s Record-Breaking IPL Contract
Pant who was bought by Lucknow SuperGiants in the mega-auctions held at Jeddah in November, 2024, made headlines as he became the most expensive player in the history of IPL. The franchise bought him for a staggering price of INR 27 Crore. He has also been appointed as the captain of the franchise.
Pant will face his former team Delhi Capitals in his first match as a player of Lucknow SuperGiants. The match will be played on 24 March at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.
