Star Aussie leg spinner is in awe of Virat’s 82 against them in WT20 2016

Young Aussie leg spinner Adam Zampa has rated Virat’s 82 of 51 balls as one of the top innings he has ever watched in his entire life.

Adam Zampa in a recent interview has talked about Virat as he is all set to face him in the limited overs series starting 27th November. He has ranked Virat as one of the toughest players to bowl at. although Zampa has a hand over Kohli as the leg spinner has got him out five times in the ODI format and kept his bat under control as well keeping his strike rate limited to 117.57 in last three years.

In T20I’s, Zampa dominates Kohli as he has got Virat out twice but has controlled the flow of runs from his bat by keeping him at a strike rate of 102.45 in last three years.Although having upper hand over Kohli in the limited overs format, Zamp asays that it will be tough to  bowl at him looking at his current form. He remembers Kohli’s one innings against Australia particularly well.

He remembers the WT20 game in 2016 where Kohli got India home by a fantastic knock of 82 off 51 balls. India were chasing a  par score target of 161 in a must win game to qualify for the knockouts thanks to a decent start by their openers and a strong finish from Maxwell, Watson and Peter Neville.

Chasing this total, India didn’t start well as both the openers got out cheaply Virat tried to control the innings with Raina but even he fell victim to the Aussie bowling. Yuvraj played a decent knock and stayed with Kohli to build a partnership. Just as things were looking good for India, Yuvraj got out trying to hit it over the fielder at covers. Dhoni was at the crease when the team needed 38 off 18 deliveries.

Kohli’s master class was seen during these 18 deliveries as he just placed the ball to every part of the ground. India won that match quite easily due to Kohli’s brilliance in the batting. Virat was the Man of the Match for his high class 82.

Zampa says that this was one the greatest knocks ever played in the history of T20 internationals.
