Sri Lanka vs England: James Anderson outstripped Glenn McGrath with 30th 5-wicket

On Saturday, in the ongoing test series between Sri Lanka vs England, James Anderson England’s fast bowler , outstripped Glenn McGrath’s with his 30th five wicket haul.

On Day 2 of ongoing test series SL vs Eng, to achieve the 6th position on the list of bowlers with most 5 wicket hauls Anderson defeated Niroshan Dickwella (92), Suranga Lakmal (0), Angelo Mathews (110), Kusal Perera (6) and Lahiru Thirimanne (43). So far he has 18 wickets in Sri Lanka in 7 tests at an average of 32.94.

Also, Anderson is the only fast bowler to take more than600 wickets and is the 4th highest wicket taker in Test Cricket. To achieve the third position he needs to take 14 more wickets to go past India’s Anil Kumble.

In Asia this is Anderson’s second five-for. On March 26, 2012, Anderson had picked 5 wickets for the first time at the same venue against Sri Lanka.

After losing the first test by 7 wickets, Sri Lanka needs to win this game to level the 2-match series in Galle earlier this week.
