Indians went tough in the beginning with 157 for three on the scorecard but failed with back to back wickets in front of the spinners who pushed through the middle order.

Meanwhile, India started with five debutantes that cost them their third ODI. The inexperienced debutantes were not enough in front of Sri Lanka’s spinners who took advantage of the break that was caused due to rain and expelled all for just 226 runs in 43.1  overs on Friday.

The match was stopped temporarily because of rain at the end of the 23rd over that survived for 90 minutes. This compelled them to lessen the game to 47 overs on each side.
