South African opener Quinton de Kock was honored with the Man of the Series award in the ODI series against team India. South Africa won the series by 3-0 with the opening batsman Quinton remaining the consistent performer and game-changer for South Africa.
The first ODI didn’t start well for Quinton as the keeper-batsman played his first limited-over game after announcing his retirement from the Test format. Quinton scored just 27 runs, getting out by Ashwin in an lbw call. South Africa however managed to win the game as captain Bavuma and Rassie hit centuries for the team.
The second ODI honored Quinton as the Man of the Match as his sparkling knock of 78 of 66 gave team South Africa a positive start. Janeman Malan too contributed to the opening partnership by scoring 91 runs. South Africa sealed the series win after winning the second ODI as the opening pair Quinton and Malan helped the hosts to make the chasing score comfortable and an easy win.
The last ODI game made the fans delighted as Quinton de Kock made the Indian bowlers struggle to give his wicket. Quinton bashed for 124 runs in the thrilling game of the third ODI on January 23. Quinton’s classical innings gave the hosts a good score to defend and the close defeat for team India helped South Africa to whitewash India with the score being 3-0.
South Africa snatched away the Test trophy as well as the ODI trophy and finished the series with a perfect win. Quinton was honored as the Man of the Series in the 3 ODIs series against team India.
