The jersey is aptly named the “Billion Cheers Jersey,” for it has the chants and cheers from over the years printed on it in the form of a unique soundwave pattern. For the first time in the history of Indian cricket, the fans have been memorized on a team’s jersey. Talking about the same, BCCI president and former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly said, “The Indian cricket team enjoys support not just in India but around the world, and there’s no better way to celebrate their excitement and energy than through this jersey,” reports ANI. He added that it will help the team find just that extra enthusiasm to excel in this tournament.
The secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah exclaimed, “The story behind the jersey is the story of every Indian cricket fan. We are sure that wearing this jersey will be a matter of great pride for both the team and the supporters.”
The Indian Captain too commented on the new jersey. The jersey’s design was quite striking, according to him. Also, all the players on the team are very excited and thrilled to put on a great show wearing that jersey, just so they can make those billion fans proud.
