Shubman Gill is optimistic about Kolkata Knight Riders’ playoffs qualification despite it being 7th on the table

Opening batsman Shubman Gill has in an interview on KKR’s official website said it is still possible for his team Kolkata Knight Riders to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2021.

Indian opening batsman Shubman Gill believes that his team i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) can still qualify for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2021.  The team is currently struggling in the IPL 2021 as they are in the second last position (7th) on the points table.

This year’s IPL is not so good for the KKR as they only managed to win 2 games in the 7 games they played in India. Before the IPL 2021 was indefinitely suspended, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi capitals were at the top with 12 points leaving behind MS. Dhoni’s CSK (Chennai Super Kings) on the second position with 10 points.

Shubman Gill who plays as an opening batsman for Kolkata Knight Riders as well as for the Indian team has said on the KKR’s official website that KKR can still manage to finish in the top 4 of the IPL points table. With 7 games more to play in UAE and the four teams in the top is looking strong it could be difficult for the KKR to finish in the top 4. KKR will have to compensate for the five losses they got when they were playing in India.

Shubman speaks on KKR’S official website and feels that KKR is still in contention for the playoffs and they will try to win all their matches to make that happen. Kolkata Night Riders (KKR) is scheduled to play their first game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 20th September 2021 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium after the IPL 2021 resumes on 19th September with a blockbuster game between CSK and MI.
