India did lose the third ODI by 66 runs but won the series by defeating Australia by 2-1. The Aussies, who already lost the series by losing the second ODI, made a promising comeback in the third. Maxwell did the magic for the Aussies by taking four wickets and conceding just 40 runs. He was also awarded as the player of the match in the 3rd ODI.
However, it was India’s Prince Shubhman Gill who was awarded Player of the Series for his outstanding performance with the bat. Gill, who didn’t play the third ODI, still managed to back the best player of the series. It was probably his exception ton brought him this award.
Gill, who has already scored six hundred this year, is all set to showcase his brilliant form in the main event, the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. He has the advantage of playing on home grounds, as the venue is set to be India. With his promising touch with the bat, we would surely love to see some magnificent strokes during the World Cup.
