During the sidelines of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP, a series of unexpected meetings unfolded, adding a unique twist to the event. Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer, currently on a break from the cricket field after a crucial role in India’s ODI World Cup campaign, was spotted alongside former France footballer and Manchester United icon Patrice Evra.
Iyer’s presence took a surprising turn on Sunday when he presented F1 world champion Max Verstappen with an Indian ODI jersey, injecting a touch of cricket into the high-speed world of Formula 1.
Taking a break before rejoining the Indian squad for the last two T20Is against Australia, Iyer attended the Formula 1 season finale in Abu Dhabi, where he crossed paths with football legend Patrice Evra on Monday. Evra, a known F1 enthusiast, had previously attended the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, witnessing Verstappen’s triumph in claiming the 2022 Driver’s Championship with his 15th victory of the season.
