At the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, Shreyas Iyer has reported. The India cricketer visited the NCA for the routine care after deciding against having surgery for his back issues. On Thursday, March 29, he will receive an injection, and the Bengaluru staff’s evaluation will decide how long he stays at the NCA.

“He has met the specialist and the NCA officials. All are on the same page that the operation can be deferred. He will follow the experts’ advice,” said a source close to him.

According to information obtained, Iyer, the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has decided to postpone having surgery because he wants to be eligible for selection for the World Test Championship (WTC) final between England and Australia in London in early June (starting on June 7). The activity would have been missed for at least six months if she had undergone surgery.
