The men’s team is likely to be led by Shikhar Dhawan who was the captain of Team India during the absence of Rohit Sharma. The Asian Games will be held from September 23 to October 8 and the World Cup will be held from October 5 in India. The Asian games team is likely to be coached by VVS Laxman. The BCCI could see the Asian games as a platform for players to be selected for the World Cup, but the timing of both the games are colliding so it might be difficult for the players to play both.
BCCI has decided to send the India B team to the Asian Games 2023. The final decision will be taken by the BCCI on July 7 when the annual General Meeting takes place.
